Large crop so it is what it is - but in spite of the dark tones I rather liked this one. I could have taken out more noise in the bkg but it seemed out of "tone" with the acorn when I did so - so I left it. Thoughts? Thanks for looking and feedback.

Good shot, unusual to see one like this, I understand the reservations over the highlights but I feel that is part of the image, a contrasting image that you handled well.
Awesome shot, I can feel the action in that pose. A maybe about reducing that light patch at the bottom.

Jay, you're really humming with your set up. This is a very nice frame indeed, one we hardly see let alone in flight.
Super wing position and excellent eye contact.
For me, the large crop does show but only in lacking some of the cleaner edges around the head and neck. That said, one would probably not know had you not mentioned it and this is worthy of just enjoying.
All said, I love keeping images pure to a point but would vote for evicting the tan at bottom.

Here's the edit. Removed the lighter band and applied a touch less Sat and lightened the bkg also just a touch. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Jay ... another very cool BIF shot , one of the spectacular ones .
Image does look good in terms of color and comp .... personally I might temper the contrast , selectively not in general .
Not a fan of large cropping ... and the results of it :w3 , does not matter from which brand !!!!
