This adult common loon was goofing around on landing, dragging its wings as it came to a stop. Pretty unusual, and I though it made for a rather dramatic splash, aided by the back lighting. You can see the tannins in some of the water, esp. just in front of the bird.

Wow, what a bow wave! Love the pano crop. I find myself wishing that the head and neck were a bit lighter. All in all, spectacular.

I love this, Randy!! Superb water action with lots to take in and study, and the backlighting works really well. I'd be tempted to darken the paler strip along the top edge, but all-in-all this is quite a memorable frame.

This is the best splash I have ever seen in a bird frame. Now that is a wave technically I guess. Good thinking on the back lighting. Really gives it some depth and demension.
