I love the wide crop and the line of bubbles, but this needs a ground level view to really isolate the subject and maximize bokeh. There seem to be a few hot spots on the breast while the flanks appear to be a bit grayed out. So, I'm not sure what's going on there.
I like the details on this semipalpated plover and yes, the line of bubbles adds a great deal to the photo.
The wide view makes this one for me. The line of bubbles is perfectly positioned. Nice light as well.
Joseph - I really enjoyed this image. Great use of the rule of thrids on the bird and the shoreline. It has a neat story, thanks for sharing.
