Hi Wayne ... lovely colorful subject .
Details and tones are looking good overall .
The eye is looking almost too good .... too glassy for my taste .
Personal i am not fan of your chosen crop ... but this is just a minor thing . I would prefer a classy 2x3

Sweet detail. The eye is the eye. Though I have been becoming more of a fan of square crops the one could go boxy with some more room in front of the bird.
with love, artie
Wayne, there's lots of great things here!
The orange plumage presents very nicely against the dark green. You got lots of detail in the feathers and the eye lores.
I have heard about DXO but never used it - is that where you applied noise reduction? The eye does seem very glossy/shiny for some reason as Andreas noted.
Otherwise, I agree with Artie in the crop. This might be a candidate for a 5x7 horizontal (or even a 4x5 might work) where you can put a little more room to the right for the subject to look into.
Oh, and one thing that I notice and bothers me is the chroma noise with the R5. I look for a box under the Lens Corrections section in Lightroom that says "Remove Chromatic Aberration". If you have that checked, I suggest unchecking it. I can see chroma noise in the feathers near the nostril and into the head feathers. You probably can't, but once you remove the aberrations and click back and forth, I bet you can tell. It will help the detail and colors in the plumage I bet.
I like the pose, the eye does look a bit too glossy. maybe too much NR there ?
for me the head is just a bit too large in the frame and I am not a fan of the square crop as the others

Great detail you managed. I am fine with the eye, but agree with comments about the crop. Also wish for a 2x3 or at least a 4x5.
Hi All,
Thank you all so much for your valued comments, I really feel like since I have statred posting to this forum your input has help me so much, thank you again.
I found another pic shot on the same day with a slightly different head angle and have lost a bit of the green BG but what do you think with this revision on the theme - now with a better crop

Certainly fits the theme well. The blue and green go great together.
