Getting a clean look at one of these flighty little guys in the forest understory is mostly luck, with just a bit of patience and some quick reaction thrown in. After teasing me with a bunch of hidden perches, this one briefly obliged with an (almost) clean pose on a nice perch.
D500, Sigma 150-600C @ 600mm, ISO 1250, 1/2000s @ f/6.3.
Nicely exposed Bill and a lovely warbler. I like the perch and the oof maple leaves and some blue sky. TFS
I love the clump of leaves and seedpods! Beautiful bird too, of course. If mine I'd likely lower the luminosity of the brightest parts of the BG at right, and also remove what appears to be remnant spider webbing near the top-right corner. So satisfying to see the migrating songbirds trickling back again!
Nice to see the warbler framed by the branch with the seeds on it. Sure does scream spring.

I do like the overall setting /framing ... specially the mushy greens are nice .
Color looking good , as do the overall tones . Personally I might up the exp a fraction without making the lights too bright .

Thank you all for your comments. I've made a few minor tweaks per your suggestions. I'm not sure what the "spider webbing" was, but its been evicted. I toned down the brightest parts of the BG. I left the overall exposure as it was, since I think the bird pops nicely against the darker forest understory; but I did slightly lighten the bird's head.
An improvement indeed!
A sharp image of a beautiful male. I am not as big a fan of the setting as the rest of th boys and girls are. And the same goes for the hunched over posture.
