Hello everyone. thank you for your comments and suggestions to my previous post, as always much appreciated.
Sorry for my absence from past few days. I went on a Diwali vacation to a nearby hill station to get away from city's hustle bustle.
Posting another experimental work while out on the field. This is a Rhesus Macaque , who was sitting quietly and very cooperative which allowed me some opportunity to experiment different perspectives.
Your comments and suggestions of any nature are most welcome.
Haseeb.

Hi Haseeb .. a cool idea and I like the overall artistic feel of the image .
Nice to see the fine details even at that relatively slow SS .
I am ok with the tones as presented ... but might have dialed in some more tonal variations in some areas .
I am 50/50 on the crop , maybe going portrait will work better .

Love to see you experimenting, Haseeb - I have not done that in a while:tinysmile_shy_t: Curious whether you took this image with intention to create a certain emotion in the viewer, or the RAW simply lent itself to this high key approach?
What I like about this image is the ghostly appearance of the Macaque and strong emphasis on the eyes, love the eye contact. Happy with the space on the LHS, composition works well for me... but I would add some canvas at the top.
Would also go back on the sharpening on the upper part of the subject's head so everything gradually fades with the exception of the eyes. Also, you can render more tones and shades from this image, the range is there.
Mmmmm....wonder what happened if you shot this at F5 or even less, maybe F4, FP right between the eyes, let everything else fade, naturally? :S3:
A pleasure to view, as always, thank you so much for sharing,
Kind regards,

Thank you Gabriela and Andreas, much appreciated.
@ Andreas : I am happy with the crop , though definitely would have liked some space at the top .
@ Gabriela : Excellent suggestions here, would definitely keep in mind when attempting something similar, always open to different approaches.

Haseeb my internet connection must have dropped, I posted on 18th but have just noted it is not there! Good idea, I like as is, it is one of those images where you can produce so may different variations. My trouble with these is I can produce half a dozen and then not decide which is best! My only reservation is that the head is so near the top of the image.

Hi Jon -- thank you for your comments.
I completely agree with you that it is difficult to choose which one is best. Yes the head is quite near the top edge will see if that area can easily be extended.

Love it Haseeb, I just would move the crop up, 50% off the foot and adding more above the head, it's way to tight. Well done in thinking outside the box.

Thank you Steve, I liked the framing but definitely will look into the crop suggestion.

Here is a RP with more space at the top.

That works IMHO, but the key I think is that the subject is looking over the viewers shoulder, looking head on I feel would loose the impact you have here, well done.

Excellent Haseeb, love the thought and the execution. Wonderful eyes and the high key works well.

I really like the way you composed the picture, the head angle, the meditative look, the bushy eyebrows. I only wish for a bit more space above the macaque's head.

Late to the party here, a fine out of the box effort here Haseeb,
your RP is winner too, just would have liked to see detail in the mouth and the falloff to start below that.
