This juvi loon is two months old, and spending more time by himself. I often find them near the shore in the reeds.

Traditional beautiful low shooting angle (should we expect anything else?!) and a nice pose. I like the texture you've left in the BG, would have been too easy to have smoothed it out too much. Whites look a little hot on the chest, maybe a touch more sharpening to the face?
Love the overall peaceful nature this frame has

Whites are a bit hot but great HA and BG.

Thanks guys.
The highest white I could find was 246, right at the water line on left edge of breast, but I will circle back and lower them a few more points. I think part of the impression that they are hot is from how subdued the background luminosity is.
Appreciate your input.

I like the low angle, nice details. the image has a blue/magenta cast to it and needs more warming up. the calm water with green tones is very nice and pleasing, gives image a calming and almost therapeutic character

Thanks Arash:
This image was taken quite early in the AM, so was rather cool color temp. However, I did a minor tweak to remove the color cast, and also sharpened the head just a bit more.

I actually like the color balance of the OP. I have experienced that cool early am blue light and think you captured it well with the OP. Whites on the breast look good in the repost but to my eye, theere is now a magenta cast in the repost.
The water and BG are so nice. Excellent POV.
The risinf sun and horizon line in the eye are really neat.
Agree with Arash that this is a very zen image,
Gail.

Hi Randy both show magenta cast on my screen. I know it’s a cold early AM image but the WB decoding seems a bit off. Usually the AWB is bang on with my Nikons

Hi Randy, can only echo Arash's thought, but love the overall framing.
Warming the WB & going negative on the Tint I think will offer the basis you are looking for, then you can tweak accordingly, just loving these Loon images, keep them coming.

The green water here is lovely. The look back pose is nice as well. Like the low angle. Nice and sharp with good detail.
