Love this canvas overall, the perch, the look back while walking pose and the BG. You handled the slightly harsh light well. TFS
Something looks a little different to me, it could be the light but the feathers seem a little coarse somehow, did you use clarity and or dehaze a little more than normal???
Excellent view of this winter plumage. Love the detail on the legs, and the head turn is perfect. Exposure and color spot on. I also see the mild coarseness Jonathan references, but I'm not sure if it's a processing artifact or something else. Interestingly, I have seen something similar on other brown shorebirds - Black Oystercatcher and Spotted Sandpiper - in my own frames, so maybe there is something else going on with the way those specific sorts of feathers. Just an idea....
I like the pose... you may have had a tiny bit of motion blur I think.
