I had another trip to the Glen at the weekend. The Grouse are in full courtship mode, and the red wattle(eyebrow) has now grown in size, as seen on this one I managed to capture. Luckily, the bird was displaying on a rock, which gave me a view of the legs and foot, which are normally hidden in the heather.

Peaches and cream Will!! As you say to get such a clear view and of the display it is a pretty rare thing so well done.
One minor suggestion I would see if I could lower the brightest highlights on the feet/legs/and on the rock. I suppose being very critical you could say some of the darkest areas are rather dark, but there is some detail visible.

Nice to see the whole bird out in the open. Like the pose and the rock perch. Background is killer. Love how it matches the bird.

Great pose, love the head turn, the coordinated colors, and the detail in the feathers. I'm wondering if a bit off the bottom to reduce the amount of rock would help? Sweet frame.

Nice.. I would sharpen and darken the beak a tad..
