Love the light in the face and fall off from left to right in the frame. Also love the perch and the ocean BG. TFS
A very restful pose in nice soft light. Good detail but perhaps remove one of the eye catchlights.
You are really doing some nice work.
I like almost everything about this, a minor thing I would do is remove the 2nd catchlight and
add a bit more contrast to the bird.
This hen posed on the exact perfect spot on the rock for you. Awesome light and sharpness. I feel that having raised the lens up 1/2 an inch more would have been ideal compositionally, or adding it back (plus a bit at left) if you have it on the original file. Otherwise, top-notch!
Super shot John, I would agree with Dan a small slice off the base and tad to the top. You may disagree but I would try to teas a little more detail out of the dark plumage on the rear aspect of the duck.
Loverly pose and nice afternoon light. Count me in for a bit off from below.
with love, a
ps: head-angle is dead-solid perfect.
