A really pleasing shot I like it very much. Being a little critical I would asy the nos eis good and sharp and the eyes a little less so, maybe an extra round of sharpening there? The antlers tel the story well. The background is natural, I don't find the tree trunks particularly distracting but I suspect some viewers may do so.
John:
A very fine environmental image of an impressive bull. Agree with Jon's comments re: sharpness. The central tree trunk is fine, I might try to tone down the trunk on the right a bit.
The framing works well with that big rack.
Congrats!

Dear John,
Love the composition here and your handsome Bull Elk fills the frame beautifully, just look at that massive rack! I like the plants and the flowers too, very much. Pose is great.
Really not into cloning and I try my best to avoid distracting elements in any given frame, but when it does happen I do remove the odd branch or rock etc. Sometimes I manage to tone down unwanted elements by playing with colours - or desaturating certain colours - rather than removing anything. Whatever works for you, but it would be so nice if that trunk on the RHS was not so obvious!
Also, a tad more sharpening on the face might help, especially eyes. Such a lovely sighting John, well seen and captured! Thank you so much for sharing,
Kind regards,
Hi John .... some nice specimen . Head angel better in this one ...
