Fireworks

Any suggestions for shooting fireworks with a MarkIII and Canon TC-80N3 ?

On my Canon bodies I use ISO 100, f/9 to f/11, start at 5 secs and then vary the shutter speed, looking for a fair bit of blinkies but not blowing the whole thing out.

And remember to use your tripod. ;)

I was going to suggest the exact same thing Phil already said.

I'll add: get a black card, or even just a piece of cardboard, and open the shutter, wait for the burst, then put the black card over the shutter. You can do 30 second exposures and remove the card for multiple bursts. like double exposing. f/8 to f/11, iso 100 is good. If you simply leave the shutter open, then you get the fireworks fading away as they fall, making a drooping look (which sometimes can be good, others bad). If you cover the lens before the fade, the the fireworks look like they are at their peak during the shot. You can do this with a cable release too on bulb. Use mirror lock-up. Reflections on a lake are cool too.
