A Silver Gull banking after spotting something in the water. No eye contact for the purists but I also like seeing the subject occupied with something other than the photographer.

Beautiful Composition. I like the whites.
I wish for better Head Angle.

Hi Colin. Yes, a cool shot, and the whites do look good. Would be interesting to see what it's looking at.

A lovely Gull, nicely exposed. Looks good against the darker background.

As a die-harder birder, I appreciate gull shots as they're usually ignored. The exposure and wing pose are fantastic in this frame, but I can't get beyond the distracted head angle. If you keep this, I would give him a bit more room as he's really tight in the frame now.

I like the dynamic pose but the head that's turned away hearts this one. the IQ isn't good, the outlines look sharp but the topside looks flat with no feather details. I expect the top side to be tack sharp with lots of details but I am not seeing much there perhaps from processing....

Thanks for the comments. Arash, I did very little processing and nothing I can think of that would flatten the back details. These birds have very fine body feathers which are rather difficult to get detail from.

Impressive banking pose that is for sure. I agree about the head angle though, and yes to more room as per Dorian.
