Beautifully exposed, sharp, nice preening pose with good eye contact.
I would add a little canvas on the sides and above. Doesn't need much because of the pose, but just too tight for my taste as is.

The light is nice and the pose is spot on. Yes to being to tight on the sides. Love the dark background.
Lovely exposure and detail, and the red bits really jump on against the black ad white. Blue cast on shoulder is a bit distracting, and the faint suggestions of vegetation behind are
neither here (informative of habitat) nor there (sufficiently underexposed to be completely absent). It will be interesting to see what role that feature plays once you loosen the
crop others have suggested.
