EOS R RF 24-105 F4 @105 1/1300 f5 ISO 640
While testing the new firmware (1.4) and RF lens, wanted to check out the advertised AF improvements. As the ibis returned to the only roost close enough for this lens, the wind was headed right into the setting sun (and my face) from my position on the boardwalk (not ideal, to say the least). So, I hoped for a few well lit turns as they positioned to land into the wind. The acquisition and tracking seemed much better and the EVF lag while tracking in AI servo was virtually gone. Once again, this is a large crop and IQ will suffer some. AF seems much improved but won't know for sure till I use my birding (telephoto) lenses. That's 4 firmware updates in one year from Canon. That and the RF lens roadmap ( and superb quality so far) says even Canon is all in on mirrorless.
