Shot this male back at the end of May,just as they were starting their eclipse stage. This was one of the last males I saw in breeding plumage. Shot in a Nd slough.
Processed in Dpp 4 and Photoshop, neat image .I tried to get more detail in the head but this was the best I could get in those dark areas
Thanks for any comments or critiques.

A very nice image, with reflection, low shooting angle and BG.

The light is absolutely beautiful.
Love the color of the water and the little droplets near the face.
I like how the blues of the water transition to the yellows.
Great head position.
Only way to make this image better would be to have a perfect reflection but I would be thrilled to have this in my portfolio,

Very nice indeed, personally I would like a tad more space on the LHS. Colours look good. Assuming the raw file was fully exposed I think you could tease more detail out of those dark feathers using curves/luminosity masks and or blending techniques. Having said that ..very nice indeed.

Beautiful bird and light Kevin! I agree with all the comments above. The droplets and the iridescence really make this image for me. I would try to eke out more detail in the blacks though. Well done!

Looking real good Kevin.... Fab light which has created beautiful colours throughout the image. Nice detail and pose. Very pleasing to the eye.

Bird, pose, light and shooting angle all great in my book. I think the blacks are maybe a little heavy, but that apart its a great shot

Beautiful light, exposure in sunlight is about as good as you could do.
Excellent pose and shooting angle.

I love the warm rich light you got here. Super nice low angle, and those water droplets are a neat bonus.

Sweet light here. The low angle is great. The pose is not something you see everyday.
