I pulled off the coast hwy 1 at a pond to take this, parked a quarter mile away
and when I went back to my car there was the California highway patrol
waiting for me as they had 3 drivers call in that a body was laying by the side of
the road...
I showed them my nice low angle photos, they laughed and sent me on my way.
Hey love the story! I suppose its reassuring to know someone cares about you!
Your endeavour was well rewarded, I think this is a really pleasing image, the angle is ideal and the little catch light in the eye is there. the bill is open and you have a few ripples and a bubble, background is smooth and complimentary.. I really don't thank you could as for more.

Nice image. Like the mood. Looks like the head is slightly softer than the body.

Open Bill and the water colors are nice. I would add more to the whites.
Head Angle is also really nice.

Very nice frame. The open bill is nice. Really like the ripples in the water. Detail is very nice. The story is another bonus.

Lol I can relate (sort of). Although I've not had any cops come to find me, I regularly have folks tell me how relieved they were when they saw me moving as they thought they had found a dead body washed up along the river's shoreline. I love the erect and alert posture of the phalarope, as well as the open bill. The single bubble is a nice bonus too. Good job overall, with only the full head reflection (as per Artie) being a wish to have...
