Hi Bill, lovely, colorful and sharp capture. Those colors really pop against the pale blue sky. Wonderful shot on the fly!
Sharp with a nice head turn.. A bit too high key for my tastes.
It has a slight jagged edge on the duck from compression I think.
A bit strong on the contrast IMO, and I see the jagged edge Dan mentions. I like the that speculum is visible - good job considering the swiftness of the surprise situation.
Nice flight frame and pose. Yes to less contrast. The crop is nice.
Thanks guys and gals. I thought the original seemed a bit anemic, so I applied something like 30% Nik Tonal Contrast. Maybe it wasn't needed. I don't know what caused the jagged edges, unless it was over-sharpening. Here, I've lowered the contrast by 20 points, and partially mitigated the edges, at least under the neck of the bird. Any better?
