Superb color and detail. I am enjoying the composition.
Nicely done, pops well from the BG.
I wish the beak tip was sharp...
This is a really fun shot! Subject is sharp and well exposed, and the left hand leaves add interest. However, the bird is looking into the short side of the frame and that makes for a wonky composition.
I think you should crop the lone right leaf out and maybe add a bit at left. You'll retain the entire bird as shown, give him more space into which to stare, and clean up that busiest top right
corner of the frame as it is now.
Hi David, I really like the juvenile Tri-colored Heron. The spike tufts of the juvenile are wonderful, nice background and colors. I would crop the image a little different. I tried it in Lightroom to see what maybe works better. I would go with a 5x7 crop eliminating the right side and further most left side leaf keeping everything else the same. Just my two cents. Thank you for sharing.
Nice view of this chick. The leaves frame the bird nicely. The vertical composition works very well.
