Wing position much better on the last one. Head is nice and sharp but the pose in general is lacking for me.
Not the greatest wing position but an excellent image of a hard to photograph in flight species ...Good job on processing that dark head.

Thanks Dan and Arthur for your comments. I do have other images with better wing positions that I will post soon. I knew the wing position was less than ideal but the image still appealed to me.
He's giving you a really great look! I have nothing of this species (despite seeing them nearly daily), so I envious of this opportunity. Exposure looks spot on, and detail held up well. That said, the bird needs to be higher in the frame. It's generally better to have more room above that below for flight shots, particularly when the bird is mostly flat-winged as this one. Right now it looks as though this frame was salvaged when the bird drifted out of the center of the frame.
Love that red eye. I don't mind the pose. Background is nice as well.
