I was at the rookery in Gatorland in Orlando, Florida. I watched Cormorants bring sticks to the nest passing them on to another to be placed carefully forming the nest. Most of the nests and flights of the birds were contrary to the early morning light angle. A observation I found interesting is that the birds would fly offsite to get the twigs/sticks, all seeming to go the the same place, where I do not know. There was one nest I noticed that presented a good light angle on the returning bird. This image is from that opportunity. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Good field craft and observation. That is what makes for good photography.
Good wing position. Blacks look good
I think the face could be sharpened a bit more,

Well done capturing this behaviour after studying and learning the birds habits! The pose is perfect and the twig is positioned nicely without intersecting with the eye. Great light, details and comp too! I agree that the face can be sharpned a bit more.
This against a green BG or a lower shooting angle would have taken it to the next level but I know they also nest high.

Pretty neat frame. Really like the pose and the nesting material is a plus as well.
