Pretty SH everywhere, cool perch, perfect look back and eye. Wish for more room on top. Some will complain the perch draws more attention than the bird, but I like it. TFS
ps - can I steal that lens (complete with your skills), please...
Hi John, Being a gardener and familiar with this mid size sunflower var., I can't get past the bent 45 degree perch. The weight of the flowerhead would cause the stem to bow over etc, ... I realize this is a set-up but i'd prefer a more realistic perch. The chickadee looks soft to me, especially round the head, whites with lack of detail. Curious, what bright green BG in NY in Jan? TFS
I like the chickadee but am not a fan of the perch and those droopy leaves.
The size of the perch overwhelms the bird.
The perch is also place a bit too high. You want the bird at eye level.
I would strip the leaves off (I might leave the top 2 leaves directly under flower head), put the flower at a 60 degree angle and put seeds on the actual flower head and hope the chickadee lands on the top of the flower!

The perch isn't perfect, but I think it still works pretty well. I like how the leaves left shorter right to left, and I think the perch - though large - is positioned well in the frame with the bird on it. Bird gives a very nice profile view.
