The only I would do is take some off the bottom...Otherwise a lot to like.
Very cool looking Owl and nice eye contact.
Nice owl and a nice pose. Like all the green vegetation.
I like the eye contact, BG isn't the best but not the worst either. the IQ seems to have taken a hot here perhaps due to the combination of the ISO and zoom lens

A beautiful eagle.
Good crop and the BG foliage is not overwhelming but rather compliments the owl nicely.
I love those pink eyes.
Perhaps increase brightness and contrast slightly?

This looks good Bill! Detail is intact and the setting looks perfectly natural. I'm not sure I've ever seen a photo of this species before, so big props on giving us something new! Could tweak color and contract a bit to make it pop a bit more.
Like this this capture as well, but I prefer your original post. This one does show the pink eyelids nicely.

Beautiful Bill, typical owl stare where the eyes just draw you into the shot. I really like the framing on the tree.

Thank you all. I'm slow getting back to this. I've reposted after a bit of Tonal Contrast and a slightly tighter crop. Interesting bird, btw: Africa's largest and heaviest owl, with a varied diet that ranges up to and including medium-sized mammals. Geoffrey, you'll recall we saw two of these creatures on nearby perches - presumably a pair. I agree the pose and setting of the other one was better.
Repost is better. Is it posed at max size?

Bill, I am pretty sure that it is 1920 tall or wide < 600kb. Do check the guidelines to be sure.
