Good light, pose and background, nice shot.
Very good John, the colours and detail are fine, I like the composition, a minor consideration would be to eliminate the double catchlight and have one instead of two. The rippled water could perhaps have been developed a little for added interest.
Well done. The bird, which is in breeding plumage -- note the orange not pink base of the bill, is a bit over-crunched ... The only way to improve the capture would have been to get down on the ground. Were you standing or sitting for this one?
with love, arite
I was sitting in the water.
Beautifully Composed. I like the colors..
I agree that getting eye level would only improve the image further.

Great capture of this beauty, John. Nicely handled bright sunlight. Like his pose and eye contact.

Yes, very nice, but for me it's over sharpened.
Very nice, John. Color, composition, and sharpness all look great. Lower would have helped, but this is as nice as it's gonna get from this angle. Well done....
One of your best John...Lovely detail on the bird and great colours. Good work.
