Super sharp with a great wing position and a perfect EXP. I wish that it had been just a bit higher off the ground, just high enough to get the primary tips above the grass. Was the bird taking off or hunting? I suspect the former.
with love, ariie
Looking real good...One of your best recently...Love the POV, BG and detail on the bird.

I love this, and I love the title. I suspect you could add a touch more reds to the WB, but man-o-man I love the intimate view of the beautiful hawk. What is the story here? Were you simply hunkered down by the side of a road or field?
Very unusual and effective low angle raptor shot. Lighting and sharpness are really nice. Like Artie, I do wish the primary tips weren't obscured by the grass. The
thin plane of focus is very nice.
Very nice. Love the pose and the light. This looks so much darker than the red tails i see on the east coast.
Ooh this one is nice. Great wing position and I very much like the unique pose and the fact that the wing tips are obscured. I do feel the bird is a heavy in color and could use lowering the blacks a bit and a slight curves adjustment to lift the darkest areas, especially the legs which look completely black and lacking in details.
Wonderful flight pose and great POV. I agree you might lift the blacks a bit with a curves adjustment; feels a little contrasty to me. ( But the species does exhibit a wide range of color variation.)
A fine image but I do have reservations over all the black and very dark areas - even in the grasses.
Great capture Dan! You are nailing the red tails. I totally agree and as soon as I opened the image I thought it needed a reduction in the contrast. Cool capture
