usually not a big fan of side or back lit images but I liked this one, BG is the coastal tree line that was in the shade, this is the adult female (last one I posted was a juvenile). She popped out from the shade creating this effect.
shot with the D5 and 600FL + 1.4X TC. ISO 800 f/5.6 at 1/3200 sec hand held and processed with C1P hope you like it too
Superb. You did a great job with the backlight and with getting a bit of light on the bird's face and eye. The lighting is of course dramatic.

Not your usual fare, but a superb shot with dramatic lighting and great flight pose.
