Barrow's Goldeneye - Pair

Captured this pair resting quietly on a small lake in northern Iceland in 2016. More often then not, their eyes were closed. C&C welcome.

D4S, Nikon 500mm f4/G, 1/2000s, f 7.1, ISO 2000, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.

Hi Geoffrey, wonderful to get the pair and i do see the violet color on the male. Wish it wasn't so small in the frame, but hey, its not even winter yet! TFS

Nice for the theme. I saw hundreds of these in a lake in Iceland but could not get anywhere near them.
