Hi all,
A skimmer taken at the Jersey shore this summer. I was laying down trying to get a shot of another when this one flew in and skimmed a broken wave for a second or two. Usual stuff in post, crop of about 25-30%
Camera: Nikon D500
Lens: 300 PF + 1.4 TC
Specs: 1/3200 ISO 1,600 f/5.6

Focus looks good, if possible I would reduce the brightest whites, otherwise I like the image very much, great timing and a pleasing backdrop.
I agree with Jon, looks like a few hot spots but very nice HA with dropped mandible, skimming away!

Great low angle on this guy, Alex! Getting the eye sharp on this species seems tougher than others, but you've succeeded here. I agree with the comment to reduce the brightest whites.
Sharp with perfect skimming. The big problem here for me is the near-wing position -- had it been fully raised the image would have been immeasurably stronger ...

Thanks all, much appreciated. I'll take a look at the whites. I agree re: having the wings all the way up, and was aiming to try to get that frame this summer, but unfortunately they closed off this spot about midway through the season so I wasn't able to get back. Hopefully next year I can find another good spot for these guys without too much of a drive.
