These birds are usually very shy and difficult to see, but this one sang it's heart out as it defended its territory in spring.

While views from underneath can be problematic, in this image it works for me because of that well lit face and eye and the classic calling pose. I like the tree bud below but not the OOF one above. Can you further reduce the noise? I wish for more room above (perhaps a vertical). TFS
Really nice singing pose. Detail is nice, particularly around the eye and on the feet. Question - why we you at f/11? Trying to keep perch in focus? Wider aperture would
have let you keep ISO down and resulted in a cleaner image.
Hi David,
This is a lovely image. I am fine with the viewing angle and the noise. I do notice (on my screen anyway) some halos (aberrations) around the buds and branch top right.
Cheers.
The calling pose and background as very nice. You must have been quite close to stop down that much.
Hi David, well timed to capture the open beak with the singing/calling, and focus spot on, on the head. The shooting angle is not ideal, and noise in the BG mentioned.
Shooting angle mentioned, but I think you have captured some nice detail on the bird. Love the calling pose. The OOF branch, top right bothers me.

I like the BG colors and the calling pose.
The shooting angle is too steep for my taste.

Ditto all the positives on sharpness and singing pose but the angle of inclination here is way too steep for me ...
