Taken last spring. Don't know whether male or female as both share egg sitting duties.

Beautiful light and wonderful photo!
Very nice mood shot here. Details look nice. Why is it so dark? Was this taken at dawn or dusk? Your low ISO leads me to believe there was plenty of light. Here is a quick redo that reduces some of the green cast to the shot and also reduced the yellows in the whites of the bird, increases exposure and warms it up a bit as well. You certainly can push the exposure and colors more but not sure if there was a reason you kept the photo so dark.
It is indeed rather dark, and lots of vignetting. I do see some repeating patterns on the left edge (top of nest). Isaac fixed the colour cast nicely. I love the scene. That is a beautiful nest, and the view of the eggs adds tons of interest.
Great view of this grebe. The placement of the bird in the frame is perfect. Love the eggs sticking out.
David, wonderful image but yes it is on the dark side, maybe a redo in post. Also the cloning repeats on the left as Daniel mentioned.
Nothing that can't be fixed super image.

Killer bird and pose and Isaac's repost improved it tremendously.

Repost from Isaac indeed improves, just a lovely pose and peak at he eggs, well done.
Thanks to everyone for their comments and to Isaac for the repost.
Wonderful capture: eggs, nest pose, colors all come together for a super image. Isaac's repost puts it over the top.
