Hi all,
Here's another from our recent trip to Tasmania. The Masked Lapwing is pretty common here in Brisbane, but this was the first time I've seen them with their very cute chicks. They're very protective of the chicks and will let you know if you get too close. I did my best not to annoy them and managed this shot. This was taken in the very pretty town of Stanley, in the north-west coast of Tasmania. I decided to clone out some distracting shadows as well as some basic work in ACR and PS.

This one is not working for me Paul.
The head is soft and that BG and pavement are so busy that the chick gets lost in the image.

Nice to see the chick. Wish it was facing the other way. The image is too tight around the adult.

Thanks Gail...your feedback is helpful. John: Yes, it was a fairly large crop, but didn't want to have too much empty space...I'll rethink this one. Cheers.

Yes, way, way too tight on top. Cute chick. The colors look dark and dense. And the wall was bad luck.

Hi Artie...Thank you for the feedback, which is noted and taken onboard. Colours look good on my screen?
