The title for this image came from a iconic image by Thomas D. Mangelsen of a brown bear standing at the top of a waterfall as a salmon leaps into its open mouth. In this case the Anhinga is flipping the catfish into the are hoping to catch it in the head first position to swallow. I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The image is one of a series of photos as the Anhinga kills, works to position the fish for swallowing and eventually swallows it. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Terrific "catch", Joe. Nice detail on the Anhinga, and the fish is in perfect position. Well done.

Great timing. You even have a nice view of the fish. Like how you can see the eye. Details look good.

Nice feather details on the Anhinga, You captured a good position of the fish. but would be even better with a clearer view of the eye.

Ditto all the positives above. You might have a go at lightening the red iris ... Oh, I almost forgot, this is a very excellent image.

Absolutely first class, the bird and prey are both sharp and well exposed. I like the water droplets and the subdued background, well done.
