Summer plumage of Daddy gathering a serving of assorted bugs for his chicks. Taken in Iceland atop a cliff where I found purple sandpipers and the parents collecting bugs for their young. I loved sitting in the grass in the middle of nowhere and watching the birds test their trust and come closer and closer to me.

Your description of sitting in the grass in the middle of nowhere sounds wonderful, heaven on earth. I like the image a lot, a beautiful littl bird which I have only seen posted here. Complimentary color palette, the prey is a added bonus. Thank you for sharing, Ann.

This is drop dead gorgeous Ann. A perfect photo in my book. Beautiful image quality, perfect head angle, perfect perch and perfect background. Nothing more you could want. This is exactly what every songbird image should strive to be. Heartfelt congrats

Good one, Ann. Muted light allows the whites and blacks to be nicely exposed. Lichen-covered rock makes a lovely colored perch to go with the b&w bird, and the background compliments it nicely. Great head turn and mouthful of insects. I share your feelings about the joy of sitting quietly and letting the birds come to you. Unfortunately I never could get the Snow Buntings to approach this close.

Beautiful image Ann! I like the beak full of bugs, HA, lichen covered perch, light and composition. It is special when you can gain the trust of birds by just becoming part of the environment.

Very nice. Love the colors on the rock. The insect is a plus as well. Pose on the bird is pretty perfect.

Ditto all the accolades above. A 50% layer of NIK Color Efex Pro Detail Extractor and Tonal Contrast applied to the lower front half of the face would likely improve it.

I really like the image. I have never seen this one in really life. The Yellows are bit over powering me.
Excellent shot again and congratulation on the capture.

Lovely frame Ann, perfect POV and the meal is a great bonus. Interesting to see how different they look compared to the winter ones we get over in the UK
