This image is from Pusztaszer in Hungary where I spend several hours in the Roller Tower hide at the farm of Bence Máté.
The roller was just outside the entrance of the nest as something (not me) caused its attention. I have cropped the image by 20 percent just for composition.
Canon EOS 1DX MK II and EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM (340mm).
1/2500 sec at f/5.6 and ISO 5000.
Your comments and critique are very welcome.
Kind regard

These beautiful birds are even more so when they spread their wings. Nice work catching him in flight. One might quibble over wing position or head angle, but I would be pleased to have caught him in flight.

Nice detail for ISO 5000. Well captured, I don't mind the flight pose, I like the trailing legs. I may brighten the whole image, apart from the tree trunk, and see how that looks.

Nicely done. I'm with Will as the whole thing looks dark to me. If you have more room on our right I'd consider a crop that eliminates the perch tree ...

Thanks for the advise artie - I have a little more space to the right. However, the crop is now about 40 percent.
