I made this image at Bryce Canyon, Navajo Loop Trail.
White-breasted Nuthatch are really tame at Bryce Canyon and they come right up to us (Presumable to get some food etc). We were in Queens Garden which comes at the end of Navajo Loop Trail when I saw this Nuthatch coming close to the People who took Break.
Post processing:-
Little Crop, Noise Reduction, Nik 30-30 Filter on the bird (selectively)
Dodging on the Branch

Classic nuthatch shot, so well done with the pose. Would be nie to have those amazing feet in better focus, and I wish for a bit more eye contact. But it's still a nice shot
and a really good result considering the focal length!

Beautiful portrait, well done,DOF is quite good for such close encounter with the lens, can not expect the legs in focus, but would love to see bit more light in eye.

Good solid classic nuthatch pose.
I was at that very same spot 2 years ago and did not see a single bird. Lucky you!

A nice image with a good composition, soft background and fine details.
I love that you have done the vertical shot originally.

Thank you all for the comments.
Gail, This is my third trip to Bryce Canyon and I saw these birds in all of my trips. Based on my Observation, I saw these birds in the Mornings near Parking lots at Sunset points and in Mid days I saw them in the Trails. I never seen then in Evenings.
I saw White Brested Nutthach, Pygmy nuthatch and Clarks Nutcrackers and Western Bluebirds. I wanted to photograph Pygmy nuthatch, hopefully next time. These birds are really approachable specially in winters with lots of snow.
Thanks
Krishna

Hey Krishna,
This one is very nice. I actually like the tree better than the bird as the nuthatch's face looks a bit overdone to me .. . You might try to tone down the hotspot in the URC with a flopped, refined Quick Mask of the soft green ...
with love, artie

I like the classic pose, composition and how the tree bark compliments the rusty underside of the Nuthatch. Nice image.
