I was shooting this Heron on a stick catching bugs, when it slipped off into the water. it bathed for a bit then just posed for me! Canon: 7D Markll , 100-400 Markll, 1.4 ext. 1/1000, 560mm f8 800 iso manfrotto monopod.

I thought after posting, it could use a little brightening and sharpening in the face.
The repost is the one i prefer. Nice love angle and i like the dark background. Some more to the right would be nice.
Report is much better. You can try to add more canvas to the right of the image. I do feel the image quality could be a bit better as well.

As this is something of a crop, would you be so kind as to post a JPEG that represents the full frame original image?
thanks with love, artie
The funky hairdo really makes this shot, nicely done! I do agree that Michael's rework is significantly brighter and sharper.
Thanks Micheal. The big problem here i with the original image design; you placed the bird too low in the frame; after that, your crop choices were severely restricted ...In all crops and versions the bird needs lots more room below, at least enough to include the virtual tail (if not the virtual legs ...)
