Lots of super raptor images posted lately. This female Bald Eagle is the first of her kind to nest in New York City in the last 100 years. Her and her mate have successfully hatched and fledged young for the last 3 years. While they are always around and easy to see they are quite hard to photograph as in the mornings when they are out hunting the sun is in your face and in the evening they are perched in the trees the sun is again in your face. So very few times when there are opportunities to get them with the sun at your back. Photographed in late evening light as she flew from one of her young to the other one. I was set up in between them hoping she would fly towards me shortly before the sun went behind the trees.
Canon 1dx mark ii and Canon 600 f4 ii. ISO 1600, f 6.3, SS 1/3200.

A very nice image of a somewhat dirty bird. I love the pose , the evenly lit underwings, and the head and neck position. Is this from a horizontal original? What AF pattern?
with love, artie

Beautiful shot Isaac. Love the soft light and the great detail on the Eagle. The late evening sky on the back it's superb.
I would just tone down the orange cast on the bird a bit, it should be white and black!! :bg3: jokingggg!! good photo man!

Pretty nice flight shot of this bald eagle. The light looks quite nice here. I take it this is cropped from a horizontal?

The hint of clouds really adds a ton of interest. I like the light quality. You prepared nicely and it paid off.

This looks great Isaac.
I agree that the bird is a bit ratty tatty but that is a minor issue for me.
Love the light and the clouds in the sky,
Gail

Those clouds in all that blue sky always help that situation out, so that's a big plus.
Nice capture with clean details and propor exposure. Congrats getting the first BE to breed in the city in a long time. Good husteling to get her!

Hi Isaac, this flight pose shows off the full wing spread so well. Excellent exposure on the underwings, as the feather detail is tops. The light is sweet. Well captured.
