Sandhill Crane

I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The convention is that for a flight image the wings should be fully raised or lowered for the best image, but I like this pancake pose because of the flared primary feathers. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

"Except when the bird is angling 45 degrees towards you" to quote someone I know very well. Love the post and the clouds. Some might find the BLUE a bit over the top; I am not sure.

Hi Artie, I think I know that person you are quoting. I can lower the blue, I didn't do anything to raise it. Will see what others say. Thank you for viewing and commenting.

The light clouds are a nice touch. The pancake pose does work well here. Like the composition as well.

Can Bosque be right around the corner? I know you grabbed this guy at Circle B, i like the open beak, clouds and HA, way to go Joe!

The spread primaries also help with added interest in the pose. I'm not sure about the fully central placement of the subject, but I do love the clouds all around it.

The open beak and the clouds make the image, not the wing position. Well done
