Some tough lighting condtions for this image. The bright patches in the BG are somewhat distracting. The left side of the frame doesn't add much to the image other that the busy BG I might have tried for a vertical comp and include the ears which would eliminate some of the BG..
I agree with Robert, that vertical would have worked better. The bright patch on the top left is distracting. It would have been better if the ear would not have been cropped.

Can't add anything to above as I agree..........only additional input may be to use a bit of fill flash......wouldn't help the BG as much............but would definitely make the deer fur pop. Be careful though........these type of animal eyes tend to get a funky alien green.
