I have been back to the same location 4 times now and it just keeps getting better, I do however see a little something in just about every shot that I would like to change , like this one I think would look better with a little sun on the snow trail. This is a slight crop , about 80% of original.
I cloned out a couple of corn stalks from the background and ran nik 25/25 on the bird in a separate layer. smart sharpen on the bird only.

Hi Stuart,
very nice head on shot and I love those yellow eyes. Nice exposure on the bird and snow. Well done.

This is one of my favorite owl pictures ever. Amazing job handling what must have been a challenging exposure.
I would say you would have to oay an owl to pose for you like that, but I guess in some way you did!

So happy for you/jealous of these owl shots. I think I've framed 2 owls all total... and I love them - just haven't made it happen. You should have. This looks great. Love the wings - love the eyes. Great action and powder too! Keep em' coming!

I like the direct eye contact, low pov, flying snow and the wing position. Perfect exposure. Not sure how I feel about the live mouse for bait as I have been watching these beautiful birds this winter and I would hate to teach them that humans are a source for food but it did make for an awesome image.

love the pose and white on white exposure, only wish the eyes were fully symmetric and a bit more open. If you could go there at sunrise, the pupils are bigger and the eyes are usually wide open.
