I photographed this Black-fronted Dotterel at a little pond not far from home about September last year.
I wanted to see what I could do with the "friendly" little plover up so close to me, so I slapped a 2x on.
Canon EOS 7D MkII, EF 500/4L IS USM + EF 2x II, ISO 800, f/11, 1/1000th, home-made skimmer and full Wimberley Gimbal head, cropped for comp.
Hope it looks OK on the more advanced monitors. It seems fine on my old 27" iMac. Uploading a second file too, just in case.

Hi Akos,
Both files look great (on my 21.5 " iMac mid 2011 :tinysmile_shy_t:).
Lots of beautiful detail and you are not fooling around with the term eye level!!
Perfect HA with a nice clean BG. I never noticed the chestnut epaulet before in these birds.
Excellent exposure on the blacks and whites.
What's not to like?!

Hi Akos, what a shot, great looking bird! Maybe a bit of clean up on the bill, but really this is well done!

This is looking real good mate. Beautiful detail with lovely colours. Definitely more colourful than the Dotterel we get over here in Scotland, and I would have to get to the top of Cairngorm mountain, to even have a chance of seeing one.
Good work Akos.

Lots of good details, and good job on the whites and blacks. I love the overlapping feathers.

Akos:
On my 5K monitor, looks like a 37lb bird! Lots of detail, colors, textures. It is almost overpowering!
Cheers
