Early morning shot of a young Yellow-tailed black cockatoo perched in a plantation pine tree searching for pine nuts. These birds are endangered, pine plantations provide a much needed food source but similarly cause loss of nesting hollows due to natural habitat destruction.

Interesting looking bird, captured with a good pose and nice exposure of the blacks. I wonder if you tried a vertical presentation? Might be worth a try.

The crop seems a bit awkward. With these long/tall birds a vertical presentation would be more suitable IMHO.

Nice detail on the bird and I like the position of it on the perch. Good HA and colours. I would crop some off the RHS.
