Tripod, in a hide, Canon 50D Canon 500mm f4 L IS Manual mode, ISO 160 -1.33, 1/500 sec f8
This is one from way back in 2012, really struggling for light and subject matter at the moment. Shame there wasn't a bit more elbow room on the RHS.

Great capture of a lovely bird. If the capture allows, I might leave a bit more room in the frame for the subject, particularly on the right. (but now re-reading your text I see the as captured the options might be limited). I also think the exposure could be lightened a bit as well.
Hi Jon, considering the kit & tech nice work, but to me it looks a bit cooked on the colour?

A lovely lady Jon, obviously the framing isn't ideal, but the details are great. I find it difficult to comment on the colours of kingys as they change with the light throughout the day,

So much detail Jonathan. I love it.
Agree about space, but it is what it is.
You did a sterling job with the image otherwise.

A great find in the archive, Jon. Looks very good for the old 50D too but you had a good lens on. Agree on a bit more room but the rest looks excellent to my eye. Perfect background, colours look very nice and excellent detail.
love the portrait more room on left but not always possible nice
