Got to like them ears !!! Tough light here, mixed light usually is !!! Would try toning down the right side, has detail so it should be possible.
Normally I don't like body parts clipped but do like crop for this one. Excellent eye contact and great feel !!!
Here's a subject you don't see every day.. The eye contact is great. The briight FG grasses on the left are a bit of a distraction. Good detail in the fur. A vertical comp cropped just behnd the shoulder would be effective..
I like Robert's suggestion for a vertical crop.
Sharp picture. Interesting ears. If I were a kid, I would have definitely pulled those ears. :-)
I don't understand the dark bluish colour at the bottom right hand corner. I agree with Robert's vertical crop suggestion.
It has been pointed out to me that this is in fact an Aardwolf which apart from a similar start to the name looks nothing like an Aardvark. It must have been wishful thinking I have never seen an Aardvark. Profuse apologies to all. I will shortly try a vertical crop.
Here is a repost which follows the above suggestions, personally I think it looks better. Thanks a lot.
Hi Ken,
it improved it compositionally but as I suspected.... the bright grass now comes out his head. Hope you get more opportunities as you've got to love those ears.
I saw the original image labeled aardvark and thought, huh, this really is an aardwolf. Glad it got pointed out.
I like the original comp best, if just for documentary reasons. It's an unusual species, and to see most (ideally all) of its body is a big plus.
