Another harrier frame from a local park. Still working on getting closer, but this is a slight improvement on that front from my last frame (this is about a 20-25% crop).
Standard LR sliders, light NR on the bird, cloned out a telephone wire in the BG (downside to this location...), NR on the BG, sharpened. I'm not really a fan of centered compositions but for this shot I feel it works as the body of the bird and the head of the bird are kinda facing different directions. Taken at about 5:30pm.
Camera: Nikon D500
Lens: 200-500mm f/5.6 at 500mm

Looks like she's pouncing on a vole. Admittedly a better wing position would be good, but you're definitely getting closer. I like the talons, and that you got the eye. I don't mind the crop, but the light tree behind her in the bg is distracting.

I think this image would have been a whole lot better with a better wing position. Also agree with Bill re the space between the trees. Not far off though Alex, I'm sure you will get there.

The light line in the BG is an easy fix if it pleases you to do that kind of retouching.
I find the comp good, I don't think it is centered. Is it? :)
Great light and the pose illustrates natural behaviour.
I am ok with that.
Congrats!

Thanks all -- greatly appreciated. I'll clone out the vertical line. Best,
