Captured this image on recent trip to Cape May, NJ. We encountered quite a few shorebirds this overcast afternoon. I tried my hand at capturing these and other small speedsters. C&C welcome.
D500, Nikon 500mm f/4G + 1.4 TC, 1/3200s, f 8.0, ISO 3200, Gitzo, Wimberley Gimbal head.
Nice work catching one of these speeding bullets in flight, especially in what looks like very dark and grey / low contrast conditions. I like tha tyou can see hint of waves in the BG. The body of the sanderling does look a bit noisy but not unexpected giving the settings. I guess in a perfect world the near wing would be raised a tad more. TFS

Well caught Geoff I really like the image, there is a little noise but having said that I don't think it is too bad.
