IQ not great on this, as quite a big crop,but i do like the isolation of the bird, although the LHS looks empty.

Quite a fine image, Graham given the large crop. BG compliments the birds coloring perfectly. Like her grasp on this great perch, and nice head angle.

Graham, nice details, perch and BG, wish the birds head had a slight angle towards you but that can't be helped also maybe a vertical crop?

Your self critique is accurate, but I really like the way the bird is grabbing the perch. Colors and pose look good. Thank you for sharing.
Note your self critique Graham. Agree the IQ is a little off but not too bad for a big crop. Oddly the head looks worse than the breast - maybe subject movement? If so, a burst of frames may have helped as there'll often be a frame or two that are good. Tones, colours and background look nice to me and your comp fits well with the theme. Thanks for sharing.
