This image was take at Provo Bay, Utah just after sunset.
The light was really low and I had to raise the ISO, I wish I could had higher shutter speed.
With high ISO I wanted to get the exposure as far to the right as I could.
If I had the same opportunity again, I would have tried with fill Flash.

I like the composition, pose, shooting angle, soft background.
I shoot a D500 as well, and don't generally like to push the ISO that high. But looking at your numbers, you had no choice
Fill flash would absolutely been a significant benefit. Getting just the right balance on a moving target can be a bit of challenge, but worth the effort.
What do you think about your results with the TC 1.7? I have one that I used to use occ. on the 500 AFS, but for me it needed to be f/8 or higher to get acceptable quality, and I rarely have enough light shooting loons to do that.
Cheers

Hi Randy,
Thank you for the comments. I rarely push the ISO this far expect for silhouettes.
I like 1.7xTCII , we cannot use it much for Action as the AF is not that great it tends to hunt quite a bit. But for Perches Birds I often use it as birds are very skittish in Utah ( at-least thats what I think ).
I like the image quality for 1.7x TCII as well, I do not stop down.
Thanks
Krishna

I like this image a lot. I think the white is handled well and the black has a lot of fine feather details. Very well done!

Love the low angle and the dreamy smooth FG and BG Krishna, I wouldn't mind seeing. more details on the bird but given the low light and slow shutter speed there wasn't much you could do. TFS

Nice low angle with a good pose on the bird.

This is sweet. My kind of dreamy light and the bird shows well enough that it works. I'd love a shot like this of any type of shorebird. I only have them of Greater Yellowlegs but will try for more this year.
