Hello everyone,
My first post. Just recently started taking pics of birds (previously a macro and landscape man).
Taken during my lunchtime, cool to watch this guy probing the mud with his feet and then hopping around when a fish broke cover.
Finally rewarded !
D300, 300mm F4 AFS, 1.7TC, Manual focus. f8, 1/640, iso400. Hand held.

This is probably the best image possible from your position Andy !! Got the exposure right (no easy task) good head angle, well framed (maybe a little more space around the bird) and taken from low angle. You only need to get that bird in a nicer setting I think you are going to do great with birds..... they are just like bugs but bigger !!!
Welcome to BPN, Andy! Very nice first pose. I like the action captured and details. The light looks a bit harsh and if possible, a cleaner BG would be great. Keep them coming!
