remask & flood. (I wanted a more dramatic backdrop)
There is an interesting story behind these local craft... Due to changes caused by Hurricane Sandy, they will probably never be able to sail the bay where they were born well over 100 years ago. Change is always the winner.

Mitch - is the boat almost completely out of the water naturally? It looks like the way a speedboat rises out of the water at speed. Cool image.

Cheryl,
Thanks for your reply. This "boat" is sailing on a sheet of ice. Unless the ice breaks (which does sometimes happen) this boat will never be "in" the water or even get wet, but always skate on what is known as "Hard Water".

Mitch,
Greetings. Interesting shot... I've never seen a boat sailing on ice. Overall a very dynamic image. The ripples in the reflection don't work for me as it seems inconsistent with the ice. Thanks for posting.
Cheers,

Another DDawn
Michael,
I tried another dawn shot with this boat. Do you think it is better or worse?
Thanks.

I like this one better, Mitch! The sky is gorgeous.

Mitch,
The reflection and the bit of etching in the ice from the boat work well with the glorious sunrise. The wider shot also adds to the composition. Good work. Thanks for reposting.
